The School of Mechanical and Power Engineering has 172 faculty members, including 35 professors and researchers, 62 associate professors and associate researchers, and 126 doctoral degree holders. At present, there are 1318 undergraduate students, 682 full-time master's students, more than 146 doctoral students and 9 international students. At present, the college has 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 7 winners of the National Outstanding Young Science Fund, 10 winners of the National Outstanding Young Science Fund, 2 young top talents, and more than 40 provincial and ministerial talent programs.
The School of Mechanical and Power Engineering consists of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Power Engineering and the Department of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering. There are three undergraduate majors in mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation, process equipment and control engineering, and intelligent manufacturing engineering, among which process equipment and control engineering is the national characteristic construction major, the first batch of national professional comprehensive reform pilot major, the national first-class undergraduate major, and the first major in the country to pass the engineering education professional certification of the Ministry of Education. The major of mechanical design, manufacturing and automation was approved as the national first-class undergraduate major. Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering is a new undergraduate major in 2021, aiming to train college students to master the basic knowledge and application ability of intelligent manufacturing related disciplines such as machinery, automation and intelligence, and be able to engage in the design and manufacture of intelligent products, intelligent equipment fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair. Intelligent factory system operation, management and system integration of high quality applied engineering and technical personnel. Focusing on the training goal of social talents with solid foundation, strong practice, high quality, innovative spirit and international vision, the College is committed to training comprehensive talents to improve innovation ability, achieve key breakthroughs, support national development, and lead the future of science and technology.
The school has two post-doctoral research mobile stations in Power Engineering and engineering Thermology and mechanical Engineering, Key Laboratory of Pressure System and Safety of the Ministry of Education, Engineering Research Center of Green and Efficient Process Equipment and Energy Saving of the Ministry of Education, Advanced Process Equipment Technology of the State Administration of Foreign Expertise Base, Chemical Machinery Research Institute, Intelligent Special Equipment and Safety Research Institute and other research bases. With power engineering and engineering thermophysics and mechanical engineering two first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization, safety science and engineering first-level discipline master degree authorization, independent establishment of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent equipment second-level discipline doctoral degree authorization; Three Master's degree programs in Power engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Safety engineering. Chemical process machinery is the national and Shanghai key discipline.
